if you run 2 miles a day would you get like ripped or atleast really fit?
i run 2 miles a day. and i am not fat but like not the fittest……i need to really get back to old fit times…
If your body is ready to run, meaning your knees and joints are able to handle your current rate (and you have your doctor’s ok), go for it.
You might want to find a progressive training program like the pre-basic training Navy SEALs program, as it sounds like you’d like to get really fit.
If your body demands that you need to lose weight first, consider P90X — That’ll get you some results quickly! Or at the very least, read Tom Venuto’s "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" for real fitness and nutrition intelligence and long term "rippedness" .
Then when your body is able to support your weight comfortably over the distance and duration, you can start a program of walking/ jogging and gradually building to regular running.
I guarantee you that if you start your running program today without a goal, you’ll either burnout after a month or quickly get distracted and ask the same question next year.
But as a means of getting ripped, nothing beats running, especially interval running (Think of all the ripped sprinters there are out there.)
Time to do some homework.
Best of luck.

Cardio training will definitely help you get back into shape. You will not get ripped as you would with isometric training, weight lifting. But in the long run a moderate weight lifting schedule along with running two miles a day will do wonders for you and if you can stick to it the work does pay off.
